Profile:

A leading trainer and educator in fashion design for the past 30 years. Martin is the founder, Director of Studies and the Chairman of London Centre for Fashion Studies Hanoi. He has international standing as an author of many best selling books on pattern cutting, design and grading. These publications, which are used in design colleges around the world, include:

  • Pattern Cutting and Making Up
  • The Art of Dress Modeling · Grading for the Fashion Industry
  • Pattern Cutting and Making Up for Outerwear Fashions

He also works as a Fashion Industry Consultant and has been involved in missions with United Nations in China, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Jordan and Syria and Vietnam, as well as working on European Community funded projects in Thailand, India, Fiji and Sri Lanka. He has also traveled and lectured within Czechoslovakia and Hong Kong. Martin designed the multi purpose work aid, the Pattern Master and other cutting equipment. Altogether Martin has had over 30 years experience at every level of the Fashion Industry leading directly to the valuable programmes he has been able to design.

Experiences in moderating, examining and assessing other colleges' courses have enabled Martin to develop innovative subject specific courses which are in high demand by the Fashion Industry.

*Barbara Kitsco - Managing Director

Profile:

Barbara Kitsco

Barbara brings years of experience in the fields of business and marketing. Having worked in adult education in Canada for over 25 years and having owned and operated her own businesses she blends the academic with the practical to provide LCFS students with a comprehensive understanding of fashion business.

Among her many skills, Barbara is an accomplished hat designer having worked for hat manufacturing companies in Canada as well as owning her own custom made hat shop.

She has been a marketing lecturer and Director of Marketing with LCFS since January 2005.

 

* Robert Middleton Cooper - Director of Studies

         Robert Cooper             FCFI, B.Ed, Dip. of Design, UK Director of Studies

Bob’s career in the fashion industry started in 1964 as a trainee cutter for a UK bridal company. A few years later he graduated from Leeds College of Technology studying Design and garment construction.

During the past 42 years he has worked for many leading companies and brand names around the world in the areas of design, pattern making, production management, and quality control.His experience in education was for 10 years in Western Australia where he was Head of Department at Bentley College of Fashion & Textiles, TAFE.During this period he was also appointed Chairman of the WA Clothing and Footwear Industry Training Council which was responsible for research and development of training courses for the Australian Clothing and fashion industry.

In 1990 Bob left Australia and returned to working in industry as production manager in China and the South Asia Region. This led him to Vietnam in 1991 where he later opened his own business manufacturing and retailing women’s fashion.

 

* Victoria Roe

Profile

Victoria is a creative womenswear designer. She has an excellent academic record including an MA in Womenswear Design at Central St Martins. Before she came out Victoria lectured at 3 universities in the UK and also designed and produced her own label.  She is now in her second year lecturing Fashion Design full time at LCFS, Hanoi.

During her time in Hanoi, Victoria has been interviewed on various fashion television programs and magazines, has designed a collection that was showcased in a creative exhibition in December 2007, during Vietnam Fashion week.

* Valerie Margaret Banniter B.Ed

Profile:

Valerie Bannister is one of UK's leading evening wear specialists. She has been a visiting lecturer in many different fashion design educational institutes and has vast industry experience. Some of her industry experience includes - Designing, making and selling wedding dresses for smaller brides, pattern cutter and pattern room management for film, stage and TV. costumes, as well as pattern cutter for Jean Muir, London and Elizabeth La Page, Couturier, London.

* Garth Armitage ACI

Garth Armitage
B.A.

Garth Armitage has worked in the fashion industry since 1966, with extensive industrial experience as Design Manager, Technical Manager, Senior Pattern Cutter and Product Manager with many prestigious companies in the UK and Thailand.

A graduate of the Belfast College of Technology, Garth has had 12 years teaching experience in pattern cutting, manufacturing techniques and production management in both a class lecturing situation and in extensive workshop practice. He is also experienced in clothing course development and in freelance managerial and technical consultancy within the clothing industry.

* Donna Beston

Donna Beston

Donna Beston is a Creative Designer and Specialist in bridal, evening, cocktail and occasionwear.

She works as a freelance associate lecturer for Central Saint Martins in London to provide technical support to students producing degree collections.

She also has over 20 years work experience in the fashion industry as a Designer/Pattern Cutter in different countries such as the UK, United Arab Emirates, India and China.

 

*Le Thi Ngoc Uyen

Le Thi Ngoc Uyen

Uyen is a graduate of the Hanoi University of Technology, Faculty of Textile, Garment and Fashion Technology.

Upon completion of her studies she spent several years working in the garment industry in Vietnam. First as a merchandiser, where she was responsible for the production process from first sample to finished garment and then as assistant designer, training and supervising new staff, sourcing fabrics and trims and developing sewing and pattern cutting skills.

She has been a garment construction lecturer with the London Centre for Fashion Studies since it first opened in 2004.

 

*Viviane Pearson

Viviane Pearson
MA; Cert. Ed.

Viviane is a specialist in fashion design and product management. She graduated from Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, London. She has been teaching in many universities such as Southampton Institute, London College of Fashion, Portsmouth College of Art, South Downs College and Oldham College of Art.

She has over 30 year-experience in higher education as a senior lecturer and course leader on HND and BA (Hons) fashion degree courses. She teaches all major subjects such as Fashion Design, Pattern Cutting, Modeling on the stand, Garment Construction, Fashion Product and Technology, Fabric Study at levels 2 & 3, Research Practice at level 2, Dissertation supervision and Final Major Project (individual collections) at level 3.

She also has more than 10 years experience working in Fashion Industry as Designer/Pattern Cutter, Design Product Developer and Design/Production Consultant. Her external liaison includes teaching design at Jyvaskyla Polytechnic Finland, organizing timetables and courses for incoming students on Socrates exchange programme. She is also a design faculty representative at Malaysian education fair.

 

* Christiane Isenberg

Christiane Isenberg

Christiane Isenberg has over 15 years work experience in fashion industry. She has been in many different working positions in Fashion Design and Marketing such as Trend Researcher and Consultant, Fashion Stylist and Editorials, Fashion Designer, Fashion Journalist, Project Management… She also obtains experience working with Fashion International School in Fashion Marketing.

Her language skills in English, German, Dutch, French and Spanish has enabled her to work and experience with many International Fashion Brands and Companies.

 

* Vivienne Austin

Vivienne Austin

Vivienne Austin currently is a Creative and Versatile Designer/Illustrator in the Fashion Industry, both local and international market, with particular expertise in women's swimwear and activewear as well as sportswear. She graduated from St. Martins School of Art and Bolton College of Art and Design. She has gained over 20 year experience in Fashion Industry, both professionally and teaching experience in Western and America.

Vivienne has excellent eye for colour and unusual flair for developing fashion oriented commercially viable product lines. She also has exemplary illustration skills and this makes her to become a very highly qualified and experienced instructor in Design for Sportswear and Streetwear.

 

 

* Dawn Branigan

Dawn Branigan

Dawn Branigan is now a Lecturer at London Centre for Fashion Studies and London Institute (DALI at London College of Fashion). She graduated from Marketing Huddersfield Polytechnic in Business Studies in 1982. She also obtained certificate in Education to become an Educator with Thames Polytechnic, (Garnett College). She has been a member of Institute of Direct Marketing since 1995.

Ms. Dawn is currently responsible for teaching many subjects such as Introduction to Marketing, Fashion Buying and Merchandising.

She has been involved in many teaching activities in Business for Fashion since 1989. She has been experienced in the delivery and development of many teaching subjects to students in different colleges and countries such as Marketing Decision Making in The University of London, Market Research; Communication and Advertising; Personal Skills for PG Diploma in Business for Fashion, Product Planning and Pricing Policies in Management Development Institute for Singapore, Managing the Environment module at Women's Institute of Management in Malaysia, Fashion Marketing in Context; Retail Research & Strategy; Retail Marketing; Communication & Promotion; Business Opportunities and Business Plan; Import/Export and International Marketing. She used to be Subject Leader and Senior Lecturer Fashion in Design with Marketing, School of Art & Design in University of East London.

 

* Clive Hallett

Clive Hallett

Clive Hallett is currently teaching design, merchandising, range development and BA Hons courses in London Centre for Fashion Studies. He is also a Lecturer on various design courses, range development on the BA Hons courses in some International Branding Universities such as London College of Fashion, Preston University, Goldsmiths College, and West Sussex College of Design.

Working experience in design, merchandising and branding in fashion industry both domestic and international market have enabled Clive to develop many effective teaching programs that suit to the needs and demands for Today's Fashion Industry. Clive has made his presence and various design collection at International Reputation Companies such as ladies leather collection in Pierre Cardin - France, silk sportswear; knitwear and leathers with Omanti - USA, Italian look men's and women's leather designer collection with Gaitonde - India, working on tee-shirts, underwear and casuals wear for Fruit of the Loom - USA, collections of woolen and cotton men's outerwear for Mabrun - Italy etc.

Clive has experienced in designing menswear for Gallini, Greyhound, Desmonds (Mark & Spencer) for producing in Asian market such as Hong Kong, India, Korea. In British Fashion Houses, he has involved in design work with Sabre, Daks Simpsons, Adams & Hunter, Nicols International, etc. He has worked in uniform design, corporate wear, leather and accessories, childrenswear, swimwear, colour and style forecast and prediction service, range building, buying and setting up retail stores. Clive has also participated in some development programmes working with range development, design, merchandising, branding and marketing projects.
